Help Us to Help the Child

Education is a fundamental human right and vital for achieving economic growth, increasing income, and sustaining a healthy society.

Help Us to Help the Child is a non-profit organization working passionately to provide education to the unprivileged section of society. It is a Social Welfare Association founded in February 2012 by Mr. Shwet Prakash Srivastava, now an alumnus of ABES Engineering College, for imparting education to the children in slum areas, who do not have means to go to school.

In this course of time, students from different colleges have come forward and taken initiatives to make their contributions to the society. Accordingly, the young and enthusiastic team has been working very hard for the education of the children in the slums for more than 7 years now and thus educating over 800+ children of slums and still counting. The organization got registered under societies registration act XXI of 1860, in June 2013 and is working under the motto of, “Every child is a divine opportunity”.

Our Causes

HUHC is working in the field of empowering children in slums through the Inclusive Tri- Educational Model (ITEM).

  1. Literacy Centers: The first mode helps us in reaching to the area where there is lack of education. We design a routine and our volunteers visit to the camps and teach them regularly.
  2. A school of Hope, “Kiran Shiksha Sansthan-KSS”: Kids, who are nearby ABES Engineering College are admitted to the school via a basic entrance test so as to get an idea of how much a student knows and who we believe can do even better with proper support and guidance. Here these kids are taught in an environment very similar to a school.
  3. Private Schools: Students from KSS and centers, who do exceptionally good under our supervision and need even more exposure to excel, are admitted to private schools under our scholarship programmes.

All children are born with fundamental rights.

  • Right to Survival - to life, health, nutrition, name, nationality.
  • Right to Development - to education, care, leisure, recreation, cultural activities.
  • Right to Protection - from exploitation, abuse, neglect.
  • Right to Participation - to expression, information, thought, religion and a right to achieve these dreams.
Even though India's children account for more than one-third of its population, their interests have never been given priority. And their rights have been violated every single day.
HUHC has compiled some statistics on the situation of children in India. This is based on our experience of working on a range of children's issues across some regions of India. The statistics are grim. What is worse is that very little is known of what it means to be part of such horrific numbers. The task before us is huge and we believe that for real change to happen, every member of our society should take responsibility to change the lives of these children permanently. While the reality in India may be far from ideal, we believe that every child has a right to dream.
HUHC has three priority areas where we focus our attention and education resources.
  • Improving access to education.
  • Improving quality of education.
  • Improving governance and management of education.
We also organize several donation camps and provide books, stationery cloths and other requirements time-to-time to the children of our camps. We have so far celebrated Independence Days, Republic Days, Diwali, Eid, Children's Day, etc with these children at the camps in the last 7 years. This social work is being done by several students of Ghaziabad from different colleges and we are doing this pious job with all enthusiasm and zeal. And, we now have realized that "sincere labor never goes in vain."
Presently, our organization is running 3 separate literacy camps in Ghaziabad. And around 200 children are getting primary education in these literacy camps. We have reached another height by setting up a evening school Kiran Shiksha Sansthan(KSS), for those children who are doing exceptionally good at our literacy camps and giving them better schooling can give better results. Kiran Shiksha Sansthan(KSS) was a long wait project of HUHC which actually got completed and inaugurated on 15th of April in the presence of several dignitaries with their overwhelming blessings and support. In KSS, we are committed to give all the basic facilities provided in a private school free of cost to bridge the gap in their education. Presently, 35 students are getting benefited under this project of ours and the progress is very positive.

HCSP - HUHC Children Sponsorship Programme

HUHC Child Sponsorship Programme is another initiative of HUHC, which is one of the modes of our organization to provide education to the children. Under the HCSP, we are admitting bright children of our literacy centers to private schools where our organization arranges all the educational expenses of the child along with the support of noble donors who have adopted the child’s education.

CSAP - Campus Social Ambassador Programme

Campus Social Ambassador Programme aims at maintaining cordial relationship with student representatives of different colleges to foster the social awareness among youth and designate tasks to the associated Social Ambassadors which could enhance their skills and help them to think, discuss debate and work for the various causes of society. CSAP is a formative approach to encourage the involvement of youth in the direction of nation building and simultaneously cultivating sound qualities in our Social Ambassadors.
